Make your own natural energy drink with water, fruit and chia seeds!

 

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past couple of years you will know that everyone has been talking about the new superfood that is chia seeds. Packed full of nutrients and antioxidents these powerful little seeds are also a great source of Omega 3 fatty acids and fibre.

 

It is more usual to cook with chia seeds or to add them to porridge or smoothies but there is also a growing trend of drinking them too! Add the seeds to water, flavour it with chopped fruit and you have your very own homemade and completely natural energy drink, making it a great alternative to sugary drinks for kids and a fantastic workout drink for adults too!

 

INGREDIENTS:

a large bottle or jar

cold water

fruit of your choice (I used strawberries, lemon and lime)

1 tbsp chia seeds

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

Add all the ingredients to the bottle or jar and shake well.

Refrigerate for 10 minutes and shake again.

Drink within a couple of hours.
